Obama to Speak at ASU Graduation

On May 13, over 8,000 ASU students are excited to graduate. But most are even more excited to hear President Obama speak at their graduation commencement.

His attendance to the event will mark the second time he has been to Arizona within the past five months and since the start of his presidency.

His evident interest in our state in the midst of a painfully large Arizona deficit shows his intentions to get financially challenged states back on track.

Michael Crow, the president of ASU, expressed great enthusiasm for Obama’s arrival.

“The progressive leadership he has already displayed and the values he espouses are a great example for our students and the extended community that surrounds us,” Crow said in a prepared statement.

His attendance at the commencement will be the first on his tour of three university graduation commencements. The others will include a visit to the University of Notre Dame and another to the United States Naval Academy.
