Several attended the event after receiving phone calls from Tyler and the Young Democrats of Arizona Working Caucus inviting them to attend the first meeting. Dozens more were unable to attend, but expressed interest and will be called for future events.

The Scottsdale chapter has an opportunity to impact local congressional and legislative races, the Democratic race for Arizona Governor, and turn out young voters to help all those Democratic candidates. They will discuss what direction to take their chapter at their second meeting, tentatively scheduled for January 15 at 7pm at a restaurant in north Scottsdale. When the Scottsdale Young Democrats submit their charter and membership applications, they will be the 17th chartered Young Democrat chapter in Arizona and the sixth for young professionals as part of the Working Caucus. New chapters are currently starting in the West Valley, Pinal County, Mohave County, the Verde Valley, Prescott, San Luis and Sierra Vista.
