Now one of the earth’s greatest gifts to man, hops, is threatened. Rising temperatures will make it harder to grow. Hops are of course the key ingredient in beer, which has a special significance in young culture; often it is ritualistically consumed in large amounts in preparation for pilgrimages to Mexican restaurants in the dead of night.

Now this gift of beer and the rich cultural significance that it has are in danger. The Young Democrats are hosting Save the Ales this year to help support the goal of protecting our beer through ensuring Democrats are successful in November. Join me friends, for the bar wells that we drink from may well soon run dry if we do not act soon!!

10-11am: Check in

11-11:30am: First general session, welcome!

11:30-11:40am: Short snack break, (snacks provided)

11:40am-1:00pm: Peer to Peer Organizing with Stan Williams and Cole Hickman.  Learn why it is most effective for young people to speak face to face with other young voters during campaigns.

1:00-1:45pm: Organizing for America/Health Insurance Reform with Stan Williams and Gilberto Zaragoza.  Learn about the current health care debate and how we can help Congress pass this important legislation.

1:45-2:00pm: Break

2:00-3:20pm: Voter Activation Network (VAN) with Sam Almy, Field Organizer for the Pima County Democratic Party.  VAN is the tool used by the AZ Dem Party and campaigns in our state to target voters, keep track of them, and win elections!

3:20-5:00pm: Telling your story with Pat Burns and Ken Chapman.  Using your personal story and conveying your values when campaigning for positive change is the most vital skill in politics.  Learn how and why!

5:00-5:10pm: Break

5:10-6:00pm: Second general session (bylaws changes)

6:00pm-6:30pm: Caucus Meetings

6:30pm: Dismissed!
